BRISTOL HIGHLIGHTS
Brigstowe - the place of the bridge. A colourful city and port with a thousand years of history. By walking with your guide through the city centre, old town, markets and historic harbour you can hear about the personalities, the stories and events that over centuries helped form Bristol into the energised and successful city of today. We will pass and talk about many of Bristol’s most famous landmarks en route.
A circular tour lasting about two hours.

BRISTOL MERCHANTS AND THE SLAVE TRADE.
Always a city relying on its merchants and port Bristol was much involved in the ‘Triangular Trade’ during most of the 18th century. It brought much wealth to the city.
This walk follows the course of the trade by looking at local landmarks mainly in the harbour, Redcliffe and old town areas. You will hear of the motivations, the main characters involved and finally chart the course that led towards Abolition.  A circular walk that will take approximately 2 hours.

CLIFTON BRIDGE AND CLIFTON VILLAGE
At the top of the Avon Gorge and on the edge of the Downs we have an area of great character with many boutiques, cafes and fine restaurants.  Originally greatly developed as a fashionable place and home to the nouveau riche of the 18th and 19th centuries.                                                                                                                                                                                         Our walk includes Brunel's iconic Suspension Bridge, the nearby 'Observatory', the Rocks Railway and then continues through elegant Georgian terraces and a Victorian shopping arcade before finishing in the heart of the village.                The walk takes between 1 1/2 and 2 hours.

BRISTOL REINVENTED                                                                                                                                                                                           After closure of the old city docks the many redevelopments have inevitably brought changes, different industries and a  vibrant life to this area in the heart of the city.  Old and familiar surroundings sit side by side with new buildings and new ideas.  Bristol's individual and non-conformist image lives on.  We follow this theme by taking a walk through both the extensive new Harbourside and historic port areas.  The walk takes between 1 1/2 and 2 hours.

BRUNEL’S BRISTOL
A revolutionary steamship, a railway and its station and a beautiful suspension bridge. Hear about the incredible Victorian engineer whose local design achievements are legendary. Come with us on Brunel’s trail and you can find out about the man, his work and his life, all incorporated in a walking tour that will take about 2 hours.
This tour can be longer if wanted and will then include a walk and bus ride.

REDCLIFFE & THE HISTORIC HARBOUR
For most of its history Bristol has been the second largest port after London and since Medieval times its merchants created a prosperous city of great importance.
Renowned for its wool and wine trade and later its involvement with soap manufacture, glass making, sugar refining, brassworks and shipbuilding to mention only a few of its successful industries. This walk will take in central areas of the city which have now more recently evolved into an entirely different environment.
A circular walk lasting about 2 hours.

BRISTOL’S HISTORIC WINE MERCHANTS
Since Medieval times Bristol has had important links with the wine trade. It brought much wealth to the merchants who lived in the old town who stored the wine in their cellars. Later involvement in the sherry and port wine trade made Bristol and certain brands household names. This walk takes us through the city centre, the old town to the historic harbour to follow the footsteps of those successful merchants.
It may be possible to arrange a small tasting at a well known Bristol Wine Merchant en route.
Again the walk should take about 2 hours.
